New Scout Camping Resource

This page provides tips and resources for a new Scout and his/her parents. Many aspects of the Scouts BSA training and advancement structure contain overlaps, topics building upon each other, and areas where "double credit" can be earned if a Scout was judicious about how he/she did things. CAUTION: While this tool helps indicate where economies of effort can be achieved, different opinions exist in various locations with respect to who is authorized to be the official approver and who can sign off for rank requirements and merit badges. Be sure to inquire within your troop on what your troop's policies are, and consult the BSA Guide to Advancement by following this link.
